Team History
Our team founders met at a FLL State Championship in January 2008. One was a FLL team coach, and the other was a retired mechanical engineer, inventor, and entrepreneur who dreamed of helping to start an FRC team; so the vision began.
- 2008 - 2009 Season
- In 2008, team 554, the only veteran FRC team in Kentucky at that time, gave us an old robot base to work with over the summer
- Team 554 also loaned us their competition robot, so we could participate as a pre-rookie team at the IRI in July that year
- Created and hosted the State Qualifying Regional Tournament for FLL and Jr. FLL teams, which we conduct yearly as a major fundraiser
- We were awarded a $5,000 grant from NASA
- Rookie All Star Award, Boilermaker Regional
- Qualified to attend the RFC Championship held in the Georgia Dome in Atlanta
- 2009 - 2010 Season
- Our second year was marked by different design and build strategy focusing on a more simplistic design
- Received a NASA grant
- Judges’ Choice Award, Boilermaker Regional
- Web Design Award, Boilermaker Regional
- 2010 - 2011 Season
- Built our competition robot and also a mini bot both with their own specific tasks
- Awarded a NASA grant
- Industrial Safety Award, Boilermaker Regional
- Website Excellence Award, Boilermaker Regional
- Qualified to attend the FRC Championship in ST. Louis
- 2011 – 2012 Season
- Had an entrepreneurial opportunity and were able to help in the development of a product for a business in the U.S. with clients in Europe
- We were Regional Finalists at the St. Louis Regional
- Dean's List Finalist Award, Smoky Mountains Regional
